I forgot to mention that last week I hung a small show over at Mini Bar here in SF which is pretty close to where I live. It’s a small group show and I put up some affordable originals as well as some cheap prints. If you are in the area for a drink go ahead and check it out. I’ve hung the original animal ink drawings as well as an assortment of other odds and ends. The art will be on display for two months.
Here’s a piece I just finished up titled, “You’re My Champion”. I had a really hard time getting a good scan of it but this’ll do for now. The tale of the tape on this little guy is 9″x12″ and is mixed media on toned paper.
I was recently commissioned by a Biologist at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. She asked me to do a total of four pieces based on animals that are protected yet still being hunted for their fins, ivory and so on. All of the below pieces are 16″x20″ mixed media on paper. They were a lot of fun to do and it was bitter sweet to see the project come to a close. Click on images to enlarge.
I went to the DMV yesterday to renew my license and while waiting I decided to draw a DMV/Star Wars Cantina mash-up as that is often what it seems like there. I used a Fine Sharpie pen for this sketchbook drawing. I was thinking of coloring it but decided it looks just fine in its raw form. Click on the image to enlarge.
I was watching Skrek the other night and thought that the green ogre could use a bit of a facelift. A little penciling and photoshop later and here we have it…
Stan “THE MAN” Lee. I’ve always credited other artists as sources of inspiration but truth be told a lot of them wouldn’t be around if it weren’t for this guy. I’ve been wanting to draw him for quite some time and finally found the spare time and scrap of paper with which to create it on. It’s done with a brown ballpoint pen, spray paint, guache and some china marker on 11″x16″ toned paper.

“When Sidewalk Stains Attack.”
I came across some torn out pages from a novel scattered all over the street and I told myself I’d pick one up and draw whatever the content at the top of the page happened to be. Imagine my luck… this one was meant to be.
In keeping with the street theme I found this discarded sheet of uncut Stravinsky stamps and decided to draw his portrait over them.
I’ve always wanted to do a Hendrix piece. The wait is now over.
This was my prediction as to what the Giants were going to do to the Tigers. Turns out I can draw AND make accurate predictions.
Here’s a commission I did for a guy who traveled 443.1 miles to the Pearl Jam concert Munk One and I did a poster for last year.
This was a recent commission where I was asked to draw my interpretation of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. Naturally, I drew a demon on a horned motorcycle in front of an erupting volcano.
And I’ll wrap it up with a turtle commission followed by a bunch of sketchbook scribbles. Enjoy!
All good things come to an end… even gallery shows. This Friday from 5-9pm 111 Minna will be holding a casual closing party for the two-man show Jon Way$hak and I put together. Come by and say goodbye (or hello) to some great works. I will be hanging out so come and bend my ear. I won’t bite. Hope to see some familiar faces and new ones.

It’s been a good, long while since I have had a showing in the city I call home… San Francisco. I’ve teamed-up with buddy and amazing illustrator, Jon Way$hak, to put together a two-man show and the results make for a memorable exhibit. I will be in attendance for the opening this Friday and I invite one and all to come on out for some twisted culture. Looking forward to meeting some new faces and seeing some old friends. 21+.
