Sometimes it’s fun to put together a post that reads like garage sale items on top of a folding table. A smorgasboard of random discarded shit thrown together and begging for your attention. Yeah, kinda like that but with art. This post has more animals than usual. Guess I’m getting soft…
I haven’t found as much time as I’d like lately to play with color and mixed media illustrations so I decided to sketch out a loggerhead sea turtle and throw as much color as I could at it.
Sometimes you just need to draw Wicket because that is what your head told you to draw when you woke up one morning.

Most people would probably think chimps to be my favorite animal but it’s actually the polar bear. I did this sketch to commemorate their big day. I’m not kidding, they have a day… I didn’t make it up, I’m not that creative.
There’s nothing I can say about this piece that will make it any cooler than it already is…
Somebody saw my Gizmo sketch and commissioned me to do a drawing of Gizmo and Dutch drinking in a bar and this is what I came up with. I give you… “GIZMOTORBOAT”
A while ago I was asked by COPIC if I could lend them some samples of my ink work for their catalog in exchange for free supplies. COPIC is a very well recognized brand of art supplies and I’ve been known to mess around with some of their pens. Today, the catalog showed up on my doorstep. I think they produce about 350,000 of these bad boys. My plan of world domination is slowly coming to fruition…

Just a little head’s-up! Monday morning I am opening up my art sale that I’ve been mentioning for some time. I got the sketchbooks from the printers and they look great! I’ve had a lot of people who have pleaded with me to do a sketchbook or something along those lines. Something you can hold and actually see all of the nitty gritty inking details I labor over rather than the jpeg life we have all grown accustom to. That being said I am happy to announce that I have put together a 40 page sketchbook in a magazine style. It’ll be roughly 8 1/2″ x 11″ and full color. I should be getting it back from the printers soon.
Here’s a little bit of what you will see inside…
* The first page is left open as each copy will have a detailed original ink sketch (not some quick sharpie shit but a REAL drawing).
* Wrap-around cover and a wrap-around inside cover.
* Slammed full of never before printed work with the exception of only two illustrations.
* SEVEN Side-by side examples of sketches displayed next to the final piece to show my process (or lack there of).
* A handful of DUTCH illustrations, acrylic paintings, studies, skulls and so on.
* A liger illustration (yeah, a fucking LIGER, people!).
THE CATCH…
I will only be distributing about 15 of these (numbered inside next to the original illustration). The only way that you are going to be able to get this is with the purchase of something from my upcoming art sale… or on ebay if someone is dumb enough to part with it. I will be selling work for around $200 and up and It’s a limit of one sketchbook per purchase. Details on the art sale will follow soon and will be strictly first come, first served.
